Mission: To approach emergency medicine from an osteopathic viewpoint by educating students about the work and life surrounding the specialty. Through lectures, workshops, and outreach, we educate, offer networking opportunities, and a sense of community..

Our Chapter: Throughout the year the EM Club holds numerous meetings, many of which will host guest lectures from several hospitals and residency programs on Long Island and those apart of the NYCOMEC program.  Lectures will be given on a variety of topics relevant to Emergency Medicine, some of which include:  ‘Trauma Management,” “The Role of EMS,” “The Relationship Between Global Health and Emergency Medicine,” “Life As An EM Resident,” and “How To Get An EM Residency.”  The club will sponsor several workshops which will introduce students to various skills and principles integral to the practice of Emergency Medicine, some of which will include: Ultrasonography, Out-of-Hospital Emergency Management, Thoracostomy and Chest Tube Placement, OMM in the ER, IV Placement, and others to be named.  Students can expect to be kept up to date on the happenings of the ACOEP National Chapter, and all the resources available to them as student members.  Finally, the EM Club will be co-sponsoring workshops developed by other student organizations including the Cardiology Club and Disaster Relief Preparedness Group, as well as St. Baldrick’s fundraiser.
