3. Resources for Medical Apps

  • Epocrates: a medical reference guide with an extensive pharmacology section, and a free 1-year subscription to the Epocrates Essentials version is available. There are three levels of Epocrates (Basic, Essentials, and Essentials Deluxe). Epocrates includes helpful tools such as MedMath and some integrated calculators via other add-on apps.
  • Medscape from WebMD: extensive information with easy interface. Great resource for procedures as well as diseases and drugs.
  • Mobile MerckMedicus: includes Harrison’s Practice, The Merck Manual, Medline journals, Pocket Guide to Diagnosis, and more.
  • Skyscape: includes Dynamed, Archimedes, and other resources within this application. A Dynamed institution user PIN can be obtained by contacting Dynamed directly by phone or email via their website, or by contacting the librarians.
