Cardiology Club 1st Meeting Minutes

On September 23, 2013, in Organization News, by Daniel Pasternack

The Cardiology Organization’s first meeting took place on September 20, 2013 in Riland Auditorium. The meeting began with the President and e-board introducing themselves and explaining their various roles in the organization.

Four enthusiastic and well-qualified first year students ran for first year representative and a candidate was successfully elected. Upcoming workshops (EKG and blood pressure instruction), future meeting topics, organization activities and membership involvement was discussed.

The organization raffled off ‘Rapid Interpretation of EKGs’, ‘Bates Pocket Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking’ and 7 Cardiology Organization tee-shirts (extra from last year) to those in attendance.

The winners of the jump rope competition held at the activities fair were announced, but were not present to claim the prize so we held another jump rope competition, awarding a $15 Dunkin Donuts gift certificate to the winner.

The next Cardiology Organization event will be an EKG workshop led by Anthony Guerne, co-sponsored by SOIMA, and will take place on September 23, 2013. We look forward to seeing everyone at the workshop!
