Hello new and old AMSA members!
We’re off to a great start this year with lots of new members and one great meeting under our belts. At our first meeting, we celebrated AMSA’s National Primary Care Week with Dr. Blazey, who joined us to discuss the field of Primary Care with our club. He spoke specifically about what fields of medicine qualify as Primary Care, as well as some of the opportunities for loan forgiveness and future careers as Primary Care physicians.
At our next meeting (Nov 21!), we will be hosting a speaker from the Long Island Association for AIDS Care, who will be joining us to discuss what is like to suffer from this disease. It is sure to be a very moving and influential talk.
Additionally, in order to make a donation to the LIAAC as a thank you for speaking with our club, we are going to raise money through a candy apple and hot chocolate sale! Be sure to stop by Serota on November 13 and 14 to purchase a seasonal treat whose proceeds will benefit a great organization!
