The Chest Tube Workshop hosted by the SOSA and Emergency Club’s was a great success this year! On October 5th SOSA held the workshop in the Anatomy Lab and was fortunate enough to have Dr. Saggio and Dr.Futterman teach students all about chest tube insertion and assist in actual placement on cadavers. The Emergency Medicine Club also held a Chest Tube Workshop on September 28th, and had several residents from Good Samaritan Hospital there to teach students. All students had the opportunity to not only practice inserting the chest tube but, also securing the tube after placement and suturing the incision. The workshop was a great learning experience and was especially appropriate as second year students are in the process of completing their Respiratory System Course and learning all about pneumothorax’s. We hope this workshop continues in the future years and would like to thank all those who made it possible!
