LMSA 1st meeting on September 8th was a great success! As an organization that promotes health services for those in great need, we were happy to inform members and those who attended, of all the great volunteering opportunities we are offering. Our major events for this year include community health fairs at different churches in Glen Cove and Port Washington, NY. Our first community health fair will be on October 16th at the Saint Patrick’s Church in Glen Cove. This will be a great opportunity for students to have patient contact, practice some of their medical assessment skills, and interact with the Latino community. Please come join us and you will understand how much of a
different you can make.
We want to congratulate our new team members; Wildys Rosario (1st year rep) Yulianna de los Santos (Community rep) and Daphney Kernizan (2nd year rep), these ladies were the winners for the elections. Three lucky students were the winners of a $20 Starbucks gift card, Musculoskeletal Anatomy book and a 2010 First Aid book. Thank you to
all of those who participated.
For students who were not able to attend our first meeting, make sure to attend our second meeting on OCTOBER 6th, 2011. We will have lots of good food and you will also have the opportunity for just $20 to become a member and take part of this great movement.
